Community is a big deal. No one should try to do life alone. It never turns out well. At NLSM we want everyone to have the easy opportunity to connect to some people that can help identify some things that could make them better and point out some of the ways that they can be great. Thats why we have Tribes.Tribes meet consistently through the school year and take a little break in the Summer. We have specific Tribes for Jr and Sr. High. Each Tribe consists of a bunch of smaller Connect Groups led by incredible people and filled with more incredible people like you. These are the best ways to get connected around here.Dont just come to Wednesday. Your experience is incomplete. Connect to a Tribe.

Serving
The purpose of the Church is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to join with others who are called out in both the local and global realm to accomplish Gods purposes on the earth. While it is common today to define the success of the ministry of the people of God in terms of the number of those who are attending the church, the actual success of the ministry of those called out is best defined by whether they are actually going out (Matthew 28:16-20).
Followers of Christ are uniquely gifted to minister in their circle of influence, putting hands and feet to the ministry of Jesus today. Gods work becomes more evident in the lives of Christians as they step out of their comfort zone and begin to function as the minister that God created them to be. The unique gifts, passions and abilities which are deposited in each believer are given to build up the church and encourage others. There are numerous opportunities to serve in New Life Student Ministries.
Check out the LIFE Teams tabs below for a list of our Teams you can plug into:

LIFE TALKS
LIFE talks are weekly messages by Travis Jewell at New Life Student Ministries, the student ministry of Central Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.
Every week a fine group of folks gather in the Activities Building to sing, dance, hang out, and grow. They come to leave better than they showed up. The goal is to figure out and fulfill God's purpose in their own generation. Their name is New Life.
This is your opportunity to sit in, listen, and be a part of the experience. You might just learn something. If not, at least you got to use your iPod and that's neat. And if you're a little bit curious, check out also on iTunes and at

Got a question
How do I get involved?
If you are a first time guest, then we ask that you fill out a welcome card, so we can get to you a welcome pack, which includes all of our activities, pics of our group, plus some cool music and fun stuff to keep for yourself!
If you had two minutes to convince a person of a different belief about Jesus being Lord and Savior, what would you say?
Some really it difficult to believe that Jesus was God's Son. Try explaining the fact that Jesus did miracles only God could do and that He was proclaimed to be God by the prophets, and His own followers, and He proved who He was by His resurrection.
Check out these scriptures:
God is creator--Isaiah 44:24 Jesus is creator--Col. 1:15-16
God is savior--Isaish 43:11 Jesus is savior--Titus 2:13
God is the I AM--Exodus 3:14 Jesus is the I AM--I John 8:58
Is Christianity the one true religion?
Yes, the Bible teaches that Christianity is the one true religion. But religion does not save anyone. Jesus said that He alone was the way to the Father (John 14:6), that He alone revealed the Father (Matt. 11:27; Luke 10:22). Only by having a personal relationship with Jesus through faith in Him alone can we be a Christian.
Christians believe he was the Son of God (John 8:58; Exodus 3:14), who forgave sins (Mark 2:5; Luke 5:20; 7:48), and who rose from the dead (Luke 24:24-29; John 2:19f).
Buddha didn't rise from the dead, nor did Confucius. Muhammad didn't fulfill detailed prophecy. There is far less reliable information written about them, yet they are believed in.
Does being a "good person" get me into Heaven?
Maybe you already believe in God, haven't killed anyone, aand all that? Why should you care about salvation?
First of all, there's no such thing as a "good person." God says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We are all separated from God by sin - until we ask Jesus into our hearts. Secondly, it isn't enough to just believe there is a God. Jesus said that unless you are "born again," you cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
Being "born again" means more than just believing that Jesus Christ/God exists - it means asking Jesus into your heart by faith, totally relying on what He did on the cross for you. He has forgiven all of your sins.
What if I've done some "bad things" in my life?
You're a "bad person"? You might be thinking that there's no way God could forgive you. The truth is, God says in John 6:37 that anyone who comes to Him will not be cast out! Also, it says it Romans 10:9 that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Remember that if you could save yourself (by being "good," or becoming a church member, or even by being water-baptized), there would have been no point in Jesus dying on the cross. He died because there is no way you can save yourself.
SO NOW WHAT?
To receive God's free gift of salvation, you just need to ask Him for it. Pray this prayer - based on Romans 10:9, 10 in the Bible:
"Jesus, I confess that I need You. My own works are not good enough. I have sinned, and I need to receive this free gift. I confess you as Lord, and believe in my heart that God raised you from the dead. Lord Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit; guide me to a Bible-believing church; and help me to read your Word. Thank you for dying for me."
I've asked Christ to come into my life, what now?
Remember, you're not "religious." Instead, you have a personal, one-on-one relationship with God. You can think of God the Father as your "spiritual dad" (remember He is a good Father). Think of God the Son (Jesus) as your Lord and Savior - as your "best friend." Think of God the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) as the Spirit of God that lives in you. Think about it - God actually wants to live "in you"!
If anyone ever comes to you and asks if you're sure that you're going to Heaven, you can say "yes," because of what Jesus did on the cross! Think about this verse from the Bible, found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Now you can live not by how you "feel," but by who God says you are. God says you are now His son or daughter (Galatians 3:26, 27)!
Are parents allowed to attend with their students?
Yes. We encourage all parents to come and check out our weekly worship service. However, we also encourage you to participate in the adult bible study which meets at the same time.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, download a volunteer application, call the church office and see Bro. Travis.
What grades are included in NEW LIFE Student Ministry?
Grades 7 - 12.
Are there scholarships available for trips and events?
Yes, we understand that at times there are students who aren't able to afford to go on a trip. Scholarships are available for many of these situations.
Are there fundraisers available for trips and events?
Yes, we understand that under the current economic situation, everyone is trying to save more by watching their pennies.
We offer a variety of opportunities for students and parents to participate in fundraisers that will often pay for 100% of the cost of the many trips and activities that we do each year.
